Welcome to the Chelsea Farm blog. The purpose of this space is to provide a platform for sharing updates, stories, and news related to the restoration and history of Chelsea Farm.
We started this blog for a simple reason: restoring a property like this is a slow process, and a lot happens along the way that's worth recording — not just for anyone following along, but for us too, as a record of the work as it unfolds.

Posts are organised into four categories, which you can filter by using the tags at the top of the blog page:
Restoration — updates from the ongoing work on the house and grounds.
History — all things related to the history of Chelsea Farm, whether it be anecdotal, physical, or even just us looking for information.
Updates — general news and announcements about the property and this website.
Events — news about upcoming or past events at Chelsea Farm, including open days and spaces for hire.

What we're hoping to get out of it
One of the most difficult parts of this restoration is finding records that help us to understand when and why certain decisions were made. In creating a more regular source of updates we hope to provide insight into everything we are doing not only for ourselves or anyone who might be interested today, but also for anyone who might be interested in the future. We hope that by documenting our work and the history of the property we can provide a resource for future generations to understand how Chelsea Farm has evolved over time.
By documenting the work and history correctly it will allow people to care about the property and its significance. To quote the great Sir David Attenborough, "No one will protect what they don't care about, and no one will care about what they have never experienced... If children don't grow up knowing about nature and appreciating it, they will not understand it. And if they don't understand it, they won't protect it."
The same goes for history, by sharing it's story today we hope to protect it for generations to come.
